In a few places it becomes necessary to leave the wayy to work a way around the most damaged areas

Simutai

These are allegedly the names of some of the original construction crew. I have my doubts.

It is less soul destroying to look back and see what has already been walked

Simutai itself is daunting, even from several kilometers away.

Some views will inspire.Others will crush.

Terraced Rice Paddies lie barren in the winter dryness

The guard towers make a good count of distance covered vs. distance remaining.

The walk (almost) ends at this rope bridge and reservoir. The dedicated can climb on up to the Simutai Peak, but that takes special dedication.

There were certainly times I felt I had taken on more than I should, but the actual walk is not all that difficult.

You will get a No-End-To-This feeling at times.

This reservoir marks the end of the section

This wall marks the end of the wild intermediate section and the beginning of the more maintained Simutai section.

While not high or excessively craggy the mountains of this section are impressive and beautiful in their own way.
